![]() (NOTE: After posting this, I tried to archive the project and it failed every time. ***In addition, use LABEL colors to identify “kinds "of timeline audio as well. You can even hit play and record keyframes audio mix with three tracks SUBMIX faders without affecting the actual timeline clip audio tracks.īecause it takes up a little screen real estate, it’s not for everyone or every project, but it was great for finalizing the audio on this timeline. Either with MUTE and sub mixes or just manually MUTING tracks using Spacers or the kitchy “SpaceRx” can help avoid putting things in stray places AND visually see what hell is what. Many times during a production you need to output a mix without (MINUS) something (it’s usually music) for the promo department. Then I sent all the Dialogue tracks to DiA, the SFX tracks to SFX and the music tracks to MUS Using the Audio Mixer I created 3 new Submixes labeled - DIA - SFX - MUSIC. I found this method helpful because of Premiere’s ability to do sub mixing to DIA, SFX, and MUS tracks. NOTE: In Final Cut Pro if you keyboard move clips up and down tracks vertically it would stop when you bumped against another clips - But because Premiere Pro can literately “plow delete” through tracks unlike Final Cut Pro, locking the Premiere Pro track will make it a bump up against vs a PLOW DELETE. You could use the SpaceRx method for visually separating 5.1 audio at a glance too. With “SpaceRx” in place, it visually shows the “divides” I need to adhere to when I’m adding and moving clips and segregating. Bars&Tone seem to have no time limit to how much you can stretch it out time wise either which is good for this.Īs long as you dropped the audio to 0db you can leave ENABLED but I DISABLED mine. You can double click and set it to 0db and then just the AUDIO into the timeline. I change the name to “Spacer” or better yet the kitchy "SpaceRx". I started making “space” or in a kitchy “Edit Doctor” way “SpaceRx”īasically, I create Bars&Tone and it appears in your bin. (this will depend on your needs of course)īut in the timeline it is at times difficult to see the actual separation or division of this so I wanted to created “Space” to visually see the separation. We need Dialogue, Sound Effects, and Music tracks all discrete for that final delivery.įor editing, we typically reserve the first few tracks for Dialogue, the next few for Sound Effects, and the remaining for Music. In a professional world, we need to think more about splitting these sounds up more discretely. Ultimately, if all your doing is outputting something simple from a Premiere Pro timeline it will obviously still sound the same no matter where they are located on the tracks… ![]() When you’re editing, many people get Music, Sound Effects and Dialogue scattered on various tracks of the timeline. ![]()
